My Journey

All events, small and big, the milestones, the setbacks that shaped my mindset, personality and ultimately my life.

From an engineer to an entrepreneur, mentor and leader, it's a long story. But I'll cut to the chase and go directly to the interesting part.

Most people think graduation is the start of life, but it's actually the start of your struggle. It was for me as well. After graduating as an electrical engineer, I got a job in the governments' sector, only to leave it after just 6 months of joining. Don’t be shocked yet, 'cause that's just the beginning.

Coming back to the point, from a government job, I moved to the private sector. And that's where I was introduced to the world of programming. The more I spent time with it, the further I developed an interest in learning about programming. All the hours I spent mastering that skill paid off and I started getting international job offers in 1999.

The next two and a half years were spent working on international projects until I finally moved to Melbourne in 2002.

Was this the end of my struggling phase? Not really. In fact, this is where the real struggle began. I had unknowingly entered the world of monotony working 9-9 every day. It wasn't the life I wanted when I dreamt of going abroad. It was nowhere even close to what I wanted.

But just like many other people, who forget their passion in the name of stability and comfort, I too forgot somewhere, what my dream was. Six years went by just like that, from home to office, office to home- no excitement in between.

Luckily, things changed from an unfortunate incident. But I am grateful they did or I wouldn't be telling you about my journey today. My heart, which I had so long ignored, decided not to work for me and the next thing I remember is opening my eyes in a hospital bed. If all this sounds too filmy, imagine what must be going inside my head then. Don’t imagine, let me tell you myself. Well, it was the most frightening moment of my life and I was suddenly scared of who'd take care of my family if anything ever happens to me. Precisely that thought changed my lifestyle and my life. That was the defining moment in my life. I had two options- to stay stuck in my 9 to 9 (rat-race) or move out of my comfort zone and create something extraordinary. I chose the latter and that decision is the reason you are reading my story today. I had to do something during the recovery period. Started morning walks, reading books and following the footsteps of people who inspired me. Trust me when I say your associations determine your lifestyle because the day I began associating with the right kind of people, they had a strong positive effect on my perspective. I also hired a mentor who worked on my mindset and then there was no going back.

My job still continued during the day, but my nights were spent building my future. Finally, I took the major step and registered my company on 17th December 2008. Thereafter, many incidents happened from shifting to Sydney to work for a big telecommunication company to leaving that job in 2018 with a burning desire to create something that generates employment, not take it away. Do you think it was an easy step to take? Hell, not! Success never comes easy. But I was prepared to fight for my vision and I did until my vision became a reality. I put in my blood, sweat and tears, working day in day out on that idea, faced rejection after rejection with courage and eventually my product was bought. Isecurecyber. My dream came true, all those years of hard work paid off and I would not have to live with the regret of not going the extra mile for what I truly wanted in my heart. Is there any better feeling in the world than the satisfaction of knowing you didn't give up? I can't say there is!
